Swanson Lane, Granite County, Montana

Swanson Lane

Swanson Lane was a survey Road in the 1890s and connects to Cramer Creek Road to old Bonita (now I-90), Ten Mile Road to Bear Mouth, and to Union Peak Road to Coloma and Granite ghost towns. It's in literature as an access to Copper Cliff's mine and Potomac. Lolo Forest Service, BLM, DNRC and Missoula County have all been contacted regarding the road being blocked/posted and all agree the road has existed since the 1800s. The road is blocked at about N12 W15 section 5. BLM states they have no agreement to get across the private parcel in section 9.

More research at Granite County is needed to determine the historical use of this road.
