Teakettle Access, Flathead County, Montana

Teakettle Access Summary

FS Road #10880, also known as Teakettle Access on Glacier View Ranger District of the Flathead National Forest, has been closed by a landowner for years despite being listed on the travel plan as open year-round. PLWA spoke with the local FS office and there seemed to be confusion about where the gate is located and whether the road is open to the public. After more follow up with the complainant, PLWA will be continuing conversations on what seems to be a locked gate directly off Blankenship Road.

Update 2: April 2023

Additional discussions with Forest Service personnel indicate there is no recorded easement across the 300-400 foot of private property off Blankenship Road, which is preventing access. They have attempted to regain access by working with the private landowner, but with little success. It is unclear at this time if there are plans in the near future to secure access.
